The yellow-browed warbler is one of the smaller Old World warblers, 9.5–11 cm long and 4–9 g, distinctly smaller than a chiffchaff but slightly larger than Pallas's leaf warbler. Like many leaf warblers it has overall greenish upperparts and white underparts, and some individuals show a faint paler green central crown stripe (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is strongly migratory, wintering mainly in tropical South and Southeast Asia and in small numbers in western Europe. Not shy, but its arboreal lifestyle makes it difficult to observe. The song is a high-pitched medley of whistles, and the call is a piercing, often disyllabic tseeweest, strikingly loud for its size (Wikipedia, general species account).
