The Indian paradise flycatcher is a medium-sized passerine in the monarch flycatcher family, native to the Indian subcontinent with resident breeding populations in most of Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. It is 20 to 50 cm long from bill to tail. Males have elongated central tail feathers and either black and rufous or white plumage, while females are short-tailed with rufous wings and a black head (Wikipedia, general species account).
It feeds on insects, including grasshoppers, butterflies, praying mantises and flies, usually catching them in the air, then killing them by hitting them on a rock and eating the inner parts (Wikipedia, general species account).
