The Malaysian parachute gecko, once placed in Ptychozoon, is a gliding gecko of Peninsular Malaysia and its coastal islands, probably southern Thailand, and Natuna Besar. It reaches a maximum snout–vent length of 93.4 mm and has parachute-like skin flaps along the body. It lives on trees in lowland dipterocarp forest up to about 800 m, and on Pulau Sibu occurs at sea level on small trees in coastal forest next to mangroves. The name comes from the Malay words for lizard and flight (Reptile Database, general species account).
